Mission
The Association’s mission is to empower Christian librarians through professional development, scholarship and spiritual encouragement for service in higher education and society in Africa.

Vision Statement
CALA-K is an influential, vibrant, growing community of Christian librarians that integrates faith, ministry and librarianship through development of members, services and scholarship.

Core Values
1)    Members shall serve Christ in their institutions.
2)    A common statement of purpose, faith and its constitution, which controls what the Association will and will not do, shall unite all members.

Objectives

  • To base its success on an active, enthusiastic, and sharing membership.
  • To provide leadership for a Christian librarians’ fraternity.
  • To promote resource sharing efforts.
  • To provide development grants for coursework, institutes, and workshops.
  • To offer continuing education opportunities.
  • To represent the interests of Christian librarians within their working environment.
  • To coordinate unified efforts that shall result in significant institutional funding for automation of libraries.
  • To afford opportunities for members to contribute meaningfully to their profession.
  • To recognize outstanding contribution for library services.
  • To provide forums for personal contact and interaction among members.
  • To be open to all librarians who are serving the Lord in both academic and non-academic organizations.
  • To motivate CALA-K members by reducing registration rates at the annual conference.
