MEMBERSHIP

A member is either an individual or institution who affirms the statements of purpose and faith of the association and commits to abide by the constitution and its bylaws. A member must pay all dues obligated to the association and must agree to participate in the activities of the association. There shall be two classes of full membership, individual and institutional.

Full Members—Individual and institutional

A paid-up individual or member of a paid-up institution has absolute rights of voting and standing for a position in the governance of the association.  An institution must pay dues of Kes.5, 000 which will entitle it to send one person to meetings and had one vote.  If additional persons from that institution would like to attend and had a vote, they must pay Kes.1000. per person.  If a librarian does not serve in a Christian institution but would like to join, he or she may had an individual membership for Kes.1500 plus kes.500 for registration.

Associates

An associate may be nominated or accepted to be involved in the activities of the association by the Executive board. He or she may be an official representing the interests of another related association. The associate is non-paying, is not a member and has no voting rights nor can a member stand for leadership position in the Association.

Meetings

Meetings are held twice per year, usually in March and November, and location moves around so we may see one another’s libraries.
